<a href=mars" align="left" hspace="5" vspace="5" />These are 2 animations of the Mars Rover from take-off all the way to the landing and rock collecting. The first one is for the 2007 Mars landing and the second one is what the a 2009 Mars mission may look like.

Here is the description of the video:

This animation visulaizes launch in August 2007 and entry, descent, and landing of the Phoenix Mars Mission in May 2008. .. The animation was created by Maas Digital under the direction of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s Solar System Visualization Project.

This is the second mars rover animation

Optical Illusions, Cool Videos

here are a few more optical illusion videos that I really like. This first one had me seeing that crazy pattern on every wall for like a minute afterwards, and the galloping horse in the second video is great. I gotta get that book.

How Movies or Motion Pictures Work

From 1936 I think, this is a black and white movie that tries to explain how motion pictures work and why we see a continuing sequence of images.

Old movies are pretty interesting because they look so simple. We have become so used to special effects and computer animation. Seeing simple diagrams in a video and still being entertained, almost seems foreign.

The movie description is this
“MOTION PICTURES ARE MADE POSSIBLE BY PERSISTENCE OF VISION. ITS PRINCIPLES EXPLAINED WITH ANIMATION, DIAGRAMS. STUNT DRIVER ROLLS CAR OVER. GOOD SHOTS AUDIENCES, PATRONS ENTERING THEATRE, PROJECTION EQUIPMENT. PROCESS SHOT OF AUDIENCE WATCHING FILM.”

This movie is narrated and has all sorts of diagrams and visuals to help with the explanation of how movies work. There is also a big crash at the end, starring a Chevy, of course.
